I have a Honda 2008 Fit and a 2004 CRV, how often should I change Transmission fluid?
Thanks, Georgia
When using standard petroleum trans fluid I recommend changing the fluid every 30,000 miles. When using a premium synthetic, like Amsoil ATF, I recommend 100,000 miles. For severe duty (towing or hauling heavy loads) change the petroleum ATF at 15,000 miles and the Amsoil at 60,000 miles.
You can find more info in the Lube Notes here at thelubepage that explains the superior quality of synthetic ATF.
